Aug. 19-21- Echo Farce Rising
Want to hear FREE music? The 3-day music festival Echo Farce Rising will take place from Friday, August 19, to Sunday, August 21, at The Echo / Echoplex. This year, in place of Echo Park Rising, The Echo and Echoplex are very excited to put on their own event called Echo Farce Rising to honor LA artists and independent promoters. Echo Farce Rising 2022 will have a lot of bands, so you can get your fix of live music. There are performances by Buyepongo, Night Talks, Veronica Bianqui, DMTina, and the Bumps, yungatita, Molly Hanmer, Healing Gems, Bonavega, Cutty Flam, Melted Bodies, Traps PS, and a lot more. Everyone of any age can go to Echo Farce Rising for free.
Tickets are free but limited, so first-come, first-served.
Aug. 20 — Hollyhock House Lawn Party
The infamous Hollyhock House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, and inscribed as the first UNESCO World Heritage Site in Los Angeles will host a lawn part this Saturday, Aug. 20 in celebration of Barnsdall Park’s reopening. Good times for entire family, the event will take place 4-8pm and will feature performances from Bob Baker Marionette Theater, as well as a DJ Sharon Everitt laying down some tunes. Kids can have fun with some arts & crafts and some light eats!
This is event is free, arrive early to secure your spot!
Aug. 20- China Town Summer Nights
At China Town Central Plaza, LA residents will be able to see live bands, KCRW DJs, Food Booths, Food Trucks, and a lot more on Aug. 20. China Town Summer Nights will include live band performances (curated by Songbird Sessions) including Bri Giger, Katherine Ho, Mae Mae, Chong The Nomad, Low Hum and more. You can taste Chinese dishes and LA’s gourmet from food booths and trucks. You will be able to watch cooking demonstrations by Chinese chefs, see large-scale outdoor video projections, take part in hands-on Chinese cultural activities put on by local groups and museums, drink Chinese beer, and dance with KCRW DJ Jason Bentley and Travis Holcombe.

August 27 – End of Summer Bash at One Colorado
The charming courtyard of One Colorado in Old Town Pasadena has been hosting free summer concerts all summer long and on Aug. 27 from 4-7pm, they’re going out tight a bang! Well, at least until the fall and winter festivities begin! Fun for the whole family, head on over to One Colorado’s End of Summer Bash for carnival games, yard games, caricature drawings, photo booth, live music by Westside Music, beer garden, light bites and more! Attendees can also donate school supplies for the Load the Lockers initiative by dropping them off in the vibrant yellow lockers located in the Courtyard, benefitting Heart of Los Angeles!
August 28 – Happy Sundays Music Fest
Featuring over a dozen musicians, Happy Sundays Music Fest kicks off Aug. 28 with performances by Julia, Julia, Tropa Magica, Jagged Baptist Club, Taleen Kali and more. Happy Sundays is a free, multi-venue, one-day, music, arts & comedy festival in Long Beach, CA featuring a broad array of artists, created by Julia Kugel (The Coathangers, Julia, Julia) and Scott Montoya (Soft Palms).

Aug. 28 — Sunday Sessions at Grand Park
Grand Park, powered by The Music Center bring back their highly anticipated Sunday Sessions on Aug. 21 from 3-8pm! Celebrating its 10-year anniversary, the summer dance party will feature local and guest DJs, including KG Superstar, DJ Adé, DJ Rashida, Jerry Flores, Tailwind Turner and the legendary Tony Touch, and more! Food and beverages from some of L.A.’s favorite food trucks will be up in the mix too. Stay tuned for more artists and surprise guests to be announced!
