Stream the Scott Pilgrim vs The World Soundtrack in All its Entirety!

Last week Grimy Goods took a stroll the Mann’s Chinese Theater for a private screening of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Although there were some cool facets to the film, we thought the best part of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, without a doubt was its epic soundtrack. From rock ‘n roll gems like T. Rex’s “Teenage Dream” all the way to today’s garage thrashers the Black Lips, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World oozed with some kick-ass tunes. You can now listen to the soundtrack in full at AOL Spinner, [...]

Fanfarlo Release Two New Videos for “Fire Escape”

Check out the goods! Our friends Fanfarlo have released not one, but TWO new videos for their lovely song “Fire Escape.” Just like a complicated horror flick, Fanfarlo have given us two different endings: a happy ending (and not the ghetto massage parlor kind) and a dark ending. While the dark version plays out a scene of some odd cult-like intervention (looks like Heaven’s Gate all over again), the happy version is well, a happy ending. Both are very cinematic, compelling, but totally weird. I like. Check out the videos [...]

“Juices” by The Ferocious Few – Album Review

The album cover for San Francisco act The Ferocious Few is a bit deceiving. From a glance, four figures adorn the cover and after a listen to the first few tunes of their debut 15-song long player “Juices,” snaps you to attention with its frantic roll through the best of whiskey-soaked blues, rock and a hint of lo-fi skuzz, you take a closer look and notice you’re hearing the work of just Francisco Fernandez (guitar, vox) and Daniel Aguilar (drums/programming). You’re going to need a large glass to pour all [...]

Roger Waters to Play “The Wall” at Staples Center!

Funny how things transcend. Last week, my good friend Tony Puzo (yes, he’s related to Mario Puzo) was telling me about Roger Waters playing LA in November. And last night, my boyfriend and I just so happened to stumble across “Pink Floyd The Wall.” The last time I saw that flick I was frying balls on mushrooms many moons ago. Anwho, the legendary Pink Floyd bassist is about to shred a tour and has four California dates! Roger Waters California Tour Dates: Nov 29, 2010 – Staples Center, Los Angeles [...]

Hot vs Not: Boots n’ Bikinis

Mix match mish mash! I’m not sure if home girl’s sportin’ a bra or a bikini … can tell. Either way, I’m digging the boots n’ bikini deal. Although they would have been hotter in black (since the bra/bikini is black).

Hot Festival Alert: Silver Lake Jubilee

You guys check these goods out? Looks like the ultimate hipster ho-down, Sunset Junction got a lil TOO BIG. Keeping it intimate and staying true to LA’s local bands and artists, the Silver Lake Jubilee sounds like a a legit festival to attend. The line-up looks great and it’s nice to see some LA bands on the bill that are cruising under the radar getting some decent exposure. The Entrance Band, Foreign Born, The Living Sisters, Mississippi Man, The Mo-Odds, The Growlers, Eulogies, Voxhual Broadcast, and so many more! And [...]

Hot vs Not at Coachella: The Mega Mullet

I don’t know where to begin on this Coachella dude and his mega mullet. Something about his two toned hair, froey curls, hunched back and of course that gargantuan mullet, that just make me want to reach out and touch some one. Oh, my. Photo: Jen Chen
