We’re presenting a very lovely show next week on Thursday, Sept. 29 at the Echo featuring Braids, Pepper Rabbit and Painted Palms. We’ve been huge fans of the Canadian quartet, Braids, since word on them hit the streets. Their stunning debut album, Native Speaker, impressed the mass bloggeratti, while the band went on to sell-out the Troubadour in December of 2010. These kids are a real special treat, delivering incredible vocal harmonies mixed in with some fiery build-ups and breaks with beats that pulsate through your body. With a diverse song structure making every song exclusive to its sound, Braids still exudes that pop catchiness to be remembered.

Another favorite of ours, Pepper Rabbit, will be playing alongside Braids. The Los Angeles duo are touring in celebration of their sophomore album, Red Velvet Snowball. We’ve seen these guys a handful of times and it’s always a very dreamy, special performance full of the most engaging sounds.

Also, on the bill are Painted Palms. We don’t know too much about this cousin-duo but we look forward to exploring their live show. Riding on Secretly Canadian, the boys exude a modern psych-pop collage of sound with the debut EP, Canopy. Be sure to come early and check these Bay area newbies out.

Tickets to the show are $10 via TicketWeb and $12 at the door. We’ll be running a ticket giveaway, so keep your eyes peeled this weekend to score yourself a pair of tickets to the show! (p.s. the show is 18+)
