The San Francisco based, Thao With The Get Down Stay Down game down South to play a kick-ass show this past Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010 at the Deroit Bar in Costa Mesa opening up for The Thermals. I first got word of this petite talent with a delicious voice a few years ago when I read she could beat-box it down like Rhazel. WTF?
Thao With The Get Down Stay Down put out some sweet alternative folk tunes sprinkled with some catchy blue grass riffs that are both full of twang and a lil sultry hipness. Listen to her lyrics, they’re pretty funny and at times sad. If you’re in LA, Thao With The Get Down Stay Down will be hittin’ up The Troubadour tonight. Check out more tour dates here.
