“That was the most bizarre show I’ve ever been to,” said our LA photographer, Craig Parker. It was his first time checking Peaches and we sent him deep into the muck of it all! With boots and an occasional Peache’s ass cheek in his face, Craig managed to capture some crazy ass shots from Peaches show on Saturday, Nov. 26 at the Wiltern. The place was packed to the walls from the floor to the balcony. It wasn’t your typical trannies, fag hags and sexed up kids at this LA [...]
Click to see the rest of the pics!Wow. How have I not caught on to this stellar band until Wednesday, Nov. 21 at the Henry Fonda Theatre? The XX is such beautifully luscious music. A lil bittersweet and at times arousing. Opening up for Friendly Fires, it was pretty evident that at least half the crowd there was for The XX. Hailing from London, the three-piece has gained quite the mass of fans with the release of their debut album “XX,” released in August of 2009. Talk about sensual, their music evokes those warm tingly feelings resting [...]
Click here for more! This guy gets the award for the most annoying photog ever! Who the hell gets in front of a musician’s face (especially a moving guitarist) with barely a foot of space from his face while the band’s performing! And with a fuckin’ point-and-shoot! This was taken at Neon Indian’s show a couple weeks ago at The Echoplex. What a lamer …

Whether from Brooklyn, Tennessee or Detroit, Holly Miranda has taken a lil bit of all her surroundings to bring us such a sweet, soulful, and enchanting set of vocals. Opening up for The XX and Friendly Fires at the Henry Fonda Theatre on Nov. 21, Miranda wowed us with her talents and charm. Keep Holly Miranda on your radar and be sure to grab her “Sleep on Fire” EP here. Check out the live footage and photos of her performance at the Fonda [...]

Click here for more!Long Beach’s Crystal Antlers rocked the El Rey Theatre on Wednesday, Nov. 18, opening up for The Big Pink, alongside io echo. I had seen them play this past summer at FYF Fest and was totally stoked on their explosive energy. Drummer, Kevin Stuart is a beast behing that kit! Dude was bangin’ out the drum rolls so hard and fast I thought he was holding four sets of sticks … talk about trails. Errol Davis is an amazing guitarist and knows how to work the crowd not only with [...]

Click here for more!I was so excited about seeing Fanfarlo at The Echo on Monday, Nov. 23 that I didn’t even think about who was going to open. Freelance Whales were more than a pleasant surprise. They are five of the cutest kids from New York, singing through smiles and swapping around a range of instruments that they call haunted. They brought us duets with the banjo and glockenspiel; they have harmonium and watering cans! This tour is their first time playing outside of New York, but you’d never guess it when you [...]
Click to see the rest of the pics! What happens when you spend months totally loving an album? Obviously you do everything you can to go see that band play. Apparently a lot of other people felt that way about Fanfarlo’s Reservoir because there was a thick line before the doors opened at The Echo, and there were plenty of kids with hopeful eyes and pouty mouths asking for tickets to the sold-out show. Fanfarlo has big, luscious sounds with stomps, claps, epic horns, and vocals so sweet I can’t help but think of my dear love Jeff [...]
Click to see the rest of the pics! Some people say they’re overrated, some people say they’re red hot! Austin/Brooklyn’s rapidly rising electro outfit, Neon Indian, played their first show of their first headlining tour this past Friday, Nov. 20 at the Echoplex. The venue had a great turn out, which I think was also in part to Tigercity. Unfortunatley, we came a lil too late and missed Tigercity. Super bummed, but I heard they were FANTASTIC! Also opening up before Neon Indian was some electro duo called Keenhouse. Meh … I wasn’t too into them. They’re beats [...]
